For Philosophers:
Dr. Janice Staab And Dr. James Pawelski (Director of Education and Senior Scholar, Positive Psychology Center) are currently designing a comprehensive training program called "Philosophical Coaching." The program will include courses in philosophical coaching and counseling, counseling techniques, business structuring and professional ethics.
All courses will be taught by experts in their respective fields. We anticipate the first of these courses to be offered beginning in 2006. If you currently hold at least a Master's degree in philosophy (or will by Spring of 2006) and are interested in more information on this program, please e-mail us at Info@LifeSignsCoaching.com or look for updates in the Life Signs News newsletter! |

Dr. Staab's philosophical coaching course was a superb example of where philosophy should be heading. She characterizes philosophy as a strongly human discipline while much of philosophy relies on simply studying a disembodied mind stripped of any real context. In my opinion, the discipline yearns for philosophical practitioners such as Dr. Staab to finally help philosophy reach its fullest and most worthwhile potential for real people. – Alex M, Illinois, Philosopher |
